Job Description:
The Shipping Associate position performs shipping management for all outgoing company products. The Shipping Associate oversees the packaging and transfer of goods of all shipments from one location to another.
This hourly pay for this position is $18+ depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepares products for shipment including weighing and addressing of parcels or pallets
- Creates and attaches bill of lading and or shipping labels
- Easily access digital record of daily shipments
- Pick materials/product, pack boxes and place orders in delivery area for pickup
- Pick orders for shipment
- Notifies both the Factory Manager and Inventory Control of products needed when low or shortages occur
- Can conducts cycle counts of finished good as directed by Inventory Control
- Notifies Inventory Control/Buyer of low shipping supplies (boxes, pallets, labels, etc.) in a timely manner
- Verify counts of product brought to shipping prior to stocking and/or shipping product
- Coordinate with all departments to fulfill specific ongoing inventory and shipping deadlines
- Schedule inbound / outbound freight carrier pick-up via phone (when applicable)
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of shipping experience in a fast paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong organizational skills
- General computer skills including but not limited to entering and retrieving data from computer
- Attention to detail
- Spanish speaker a plus
- Starship software knowledge a plus
- International shipping a plus
- Forklift certification a plus
- Sage 500 experience a plus
